Follow the footsteps of the Holy Family through Cairo's most sacred Christian sites:
▸ Mostorod Church: Where Jesus miraculously caused a water spring to flow — a site of pilgrimage for Egyptian Christians for over 1,600 years.
▸ Matareya Church & Virgin Mary's Tree: The ancient sycamore tree beneath which the Holy Family is said to have rested. Mary washed the Christ Child's clothes here using Nile water, and God caused a fragrant Balsam plant to grow from the water.
▸ St. Mary's Church in Zeitoun: Famous for miraculous apparitions of the Virgin Mary witnessed by thousands of people in April 1968 — one of the most documented Marian apparitions in history.
▸ St. Sergius Church (Abu Sirga) in Old Cairo: Built above the cave where the Holy Family sheltered from Herod's soldiers. One of the oldest churches in Egypt, dating to the 4th century.
▸ St. Mary's Monastery & Church in Maadi: The site from which the Holy Family began their journey to Upper Egypt by boat. A Holy Bible was miraculously carried by the Nile to the church steps — now preserved in glass in the Sanctuary of the Virgin.
A felucca ride on the Nile traces the route the Holy Family sailed towards Upper Egypt.
Lunch included during tour.
Drive from Cairo to Sinai, crossing beneath the Suez Canal through the Ahmed Hamdi Tunnel. Stop at:
▸ Eyoun Moussa (Moses' Spring): The oasis of 12 springs where, according to tradition, Moses led the Israelites after the crossing of the Red Sea.
▸ Hammam Pharaoh (Pharaoh's Bath): A dramatic coastal hot spring believed to have been used since ancient times — with natural thermal waters flowing from the rock face into the Red Sea.
▸ Church of Wadi Feiran: The oldest inhabited monastic site in Sinai, nestled in a lush palm oasis. Arrive at St. Catherine for dinner and overnight.
