Tour plan

Day 01
Welcome to Cairo — Land of the Pharaohs

Your Egypt Go Travel representative will be waiting at Cairo International Airport, holding your name sign. You will be escorted in a private, air-conditioned vehicle to your hotel. Your Egyptologist will give you a warm welcome briefing and review your itinerary for the days ahead.

Day 02
The Great Pyramids, Sphinx & Sakkara

▸ Great Pyramids of Giza: The last remaining wonder of the ancient world — three iconic royal tombs rising from the Giza Plateau, built over 4,500 years ago. The Great Pyramid of Cheops is the tallest and most colossal structure ever built by human hands.

▸ The Great Sphinx: A colossal limestone statue with the body of a lion and the face of Pharaoh Chephren. Standing guard over the Giza Plateau for millennia, the Great Sphinx is one of the most recognizable monuments on Earth.

▸ Sakkara Step Pyramid: Egypt's oldest stone monument, the Step Pyramid of Djoser (c. 2650 BC) was designed by the genius architect Imhotep. Sakkara is one of Egypt's most important ancient necropolises with over 14 pyramids.

▸ Ancient Memphis: The legendary capital of ancient Egypt during the Old Kingdom, founded by King Menes. An open-air museum displays a colossal statue of Ramses II and the alabaster Sphinx.

✦ Optional: Evening Sound & Light Show at the Pyramids — a spectacular laser and narration experience bringing the history of Giza to life after dark.

Day 03
Egyptian Museum, Islamic Cairo & Old Cairo

▸ Egyptian Museum of Antiquities: Home to over 250,000 artifacts spanning 5,000 years of ancient Egyptian civilization — including the breathtaking Tutankhamun treasure room, royal mummies, and priceless golden jewelry.

▸ Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque & Salah El-Din Citadel: The medieval fortress of Salah El-Din, perched on a Cairo hilltop, offering panoramic city views and housing the stunning Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque — a masterpiece of Ottoman architecture.

▸ Old Cairo — Hanging Church, Abu Sirga Church & Ben Ezra Synagogue: One of the oldest churches in Egypt, built atop a Roman fortress gate in Old Cairo. It is the seat of the Coptic Pope and features stunning carved wooden screens and ancient icons.

✦ Optional: A magical 2-hour Nile dinner cruise with traditional Egyptian folk shows and live music.

Day 04
Free Day — or Optional Alexandria Day Trip

Enjoy a free day at leisure to explore Cairo at your own pace, relax by the pool, or join our recommended optional excursion to Alexandria:

▸ Bibliotheca Alexandrina: The Bibliotheca Alexandrina — a spectacular modern tribute to the ancient Library of Alexandria, once the greatest repository of knowledge in the ancient world. The building itself is an architectural icon.

▸ Qaitbay Citadel & Lighthouse Site: A 15th-century fortress built on the precise location of the ancient Pharos Lighthouse — one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. It commands dramatic views over the Mediterranean. The tour also includes the royal gardens of Montaza Palace, the Corniche seafront drive, and a stop at the iconic Stanley Bridge — the modern landmark of Mediterranean Alexandria.

📌 Note: The Alexandria Library is closed on Fridays and public holidays.
